| The airport can be accessed from the M4 Southern freeway from Durban city centre and is located 18km/1.2 miles south of the city centre. |
| Durban International Airport Facilities |
The facilities at the airport include ATM’s on the ground floor of International Departures as well as a bureau de change, and a banking hall with Bureau de change in the Arrivals hall. Public telephones are available, and a post office is located is situated outside the Arrivals area. Located in Arrivals is the ACSA VIP lounge & Conference facility and bookings can be made by phoning (0)31 451 6609. A domestic South African Airways business class lounge is located in Departures, phone (0)31 450 2246.
For refreshment and dining there a number of bars and restaurants located in the Arrivals terminal, and Departures. Luggage, gifts, cellular phone rental, and CD’s are among the items available in the various retail outlets at the airport. Trolleys for luggage are provided in front of terminals.
The airport is accessible to disabled passengers with lifts, ramps and wheelchairs, as well as toilets accommodating wheelchairs. Reserved parking is available for disabled travellers in convenient locations to the terminals. |
