| Well you may feel a little overwhelmed when you first set your feet on durban soils, there are hundreds of people all over. A few simple rules to follow are ....DO NOT flash your cash around. Do not wear expensive jewellery. AND NEVER walk around alone at night. This is a stunning place. |

| Ban Under-taking - it encourages the taxis to drive on the hard shoulder as well as being dangerous as vehicles move around middle-lane hogs! |

| The best advice I can give you is, do not try and drive yourself, that is what the taxi's are for and they do it best. Having said that however, you need to know a few things eg. Negotiate the price outside of the taxi and find out from some of the locals what you should be paying (more or less). Once that is done you will enjoy your holiday and save some cash. |

| To drive around in Durban is easy and the best way to get to see the beautiful landscapes, I found that the roads are clearly marked and the speed limits indicated all over. For the highways the limit is 120kph, rural area's are between 60kmp and 80kmp and in built up area's 60kmp. The traffic officers here believe in the zero tolerance theory, so stick to the law and you will enjoy your stay. |
