Useful Tips |
Speed limit - by Rodney from Aberdeenshire
We took a guided tour along the Garden Route and loved every moment. In Cape town we hired a car, taxi's are expensive and local transport is rather poor. Watch out for the speed limits or you'll end up with a wad of traffic fines!
Traffic - by Ray from Liverpool
The traffic flows, and fast too, you need to know where you're going so get a map. Johannesburg is a friendly city and the people are great.
- by Laura from Cape Town
Anywhere you drive in the Cape is breathtaking, I would recommend all visitors to this great city, to drive through a place callled misty cliffs. There are no words that can evan come close to explaining the colour of the ocean and the peacefull atmosphere. I am a toour giude and get to do the drive at least 3 times a week, and never get over the views.
Parking - by Mary from New Jersey
With about 2000 parking bays running the length of the airport you are sure to find a spot. There are paypoints at all the entrances to the parking bays, but make sure to pay on your way to the car as you cannot pay for your ticket at the exit, and then like me you have to go all the way back find parking again and pay.
Other - by Doug from Scotland
I must say that getting in and out of this airport was a pleasure, the roads are clearly marked and all entrances and exits easily located, the security is top notch, the service is friendly and the area is clean. All you have to do is, drive slowly, watch out for pedestrians and all will be fine.
Speed limit - by Lucy from Canada
I was very impressed with the way South Africans drive, they are considerate but always in a hurry, there is no such thing as taking a calm drive there, you get in the car and go.
Scenic drives - by Sarah from Surrey
This city has got to have the best scenic drives in Africa, No matter where you are there is beauty, there is Chapmans peak that over looks the Atlantic ocean, when you are in the city centre the buildings leave you in the past.
Scenic drives - by Alfie from Amsterdam
The most beautiful drive in Cape Town has to be Chapmans peak, unfortunatly you have to pay for the splendid view.
